Rachel Yaeji Kim is a Korean-American actor, singer, and performer based in Queens, NYC. Although her acting journey started fairly early in her college years, Rachel has been singing and dancing her entire life. Rachel always strives to bring out emotional depth and stability in any role she encounters. She also acknowledges the importance of being grounded in any character she works with, especially the ones she differs.
Rachel received her B.F.A in Musical Theater from Binghamton University, specifically training in the Meisner Technique with Elizabeth Mozer as well as Linklater Voice with Anne Brady.
As a first generation immigrant and a minority woman, Rachel's first instinct in life was to fit in and be amongst the crowd. She thought if she were to be like everyone else, she wouldn't receive unwarranted negative attention. Ironically, this also translated into her fear of public speaking and stage fright. But Rachel fell in love the expressive art of acting. And through acting, she felt her greatest quality of empathy can be exercised and honed. Through her acting, Rachel hopes to connect/reconnect people to their emotions, and become a refuge for hard times.
